How To Set Up Import to G/L Journal

The Import to G/L Journal is similar to Import G/L Entries. However, instead of posting entries directly, this integration type imports entries into the G/L Journal specified by the user.

The only two differences are that it is another Integration Type and that some fields on the General FastTab, for the Additional Settings, are different to the one used for Import G/L Entries.

Since this integration imports entries into a G/L Journal, the following fields on the General FastTab, for the Additional Settings, are important: General Journal Template Name, General Journal Batch Name, and Require Empty Journal.

Note

The fields Posting Nos., Copy VAT Setup to Jnl. Lines, and Source Code are controlled by the G/L Journal settings, not by this integration type.

These are the main differences compared to Import G/L Entries. For all steps follow the instructions in Import G/L Entries but with the following changes:

On the Integration Setup Card, in Step 1, select the Import to G/L Journal integration type.
For the Additional Settings, on the General FastTab, in step 2, specify the General Journal Template Name and General Journal Batch Name. Optionally, you can also enable the Require Empty Journal field to ensure that the journal is empty before importing entries.

The remaining steps are the same as for Import G/L Entries.
