Additional Information About Reports
Certain report types have characteristics that distinguish themselves from other reports in Business Central. These characteristics may cause behaviors that were not expected.
For example, there are reports that always have current work date set as the date filter in one or more fields when the report's request page is opened. Note that this only applies when the request page is opened and not when the report is processed with saved filters.
Below are a number of examples:
- Project Create Sales Invoice
- Calculate Depreciation
- Inventory Valuation
- Customer - Summary Aging (Simp.)
- Vendor - Summary Aging (Simp.)
Note
Some date fields in the above reports are automatically set to work date when the request page is opened. For example, Posting Date and Document Date is set to work date in the Project Create Sales Invoice report and FA Posting Date and Posting Date_ in the Calculate Depreciation report.
Important
When you Enqueue the above reports using Manual Filter you may need to specify the date filters in the request page, since the saved date filters may have been replaced with the current work date.
Tip
To avoid having to enter the dates again, do not choose to enqueue/process with manual filters.
