    Getting started

    The Badger features in Business Central enhances the analyzing capabilities in, for example, the Badger Power BI app regarding which data and how the data is presented.

    Set Up Account Groups

    Badger makes it possible to create your own account groups, which enables you to create customized balance sheets and income statements in an external system such as Power BI.

    Step 1: Create Custom Account Groups

    1. Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Badger Setup, and then choose the related link.
    2. Add an account group by typing in a Name and a Description of your choice on the Account Schedule FastTab.
    3. Select the Edit account schedule rows action.
    4. Proceed to fill the fields as necessary. Hover over a field to read a short description.

    Note

    You can combine both characters to filter intervals and individual accounts in the Totaling field. (5010..5050|6070 means account 5010 through 5050 and 6070.)

    Step 2: Synchronize the Account Schedules to the API page

    1. Select the Sync account schedules action on the Account Schedule FastTab, to synchronize the changes manually to the publisched API page.
    2. Or set up synchronization with a job queue.

    Set Up Badger Fields

    The API pages contain a fixed number of fields. To be able to add more fields, both standard fields and custom fields, you can use the Badger Fields in Business central to map the fields you want to be able to use.

    Tip

    With the Badger Fields you can add data to the Power BI reports which makes it possible to add custom fields.

    Note

    The Badger Fields in Business Central adds the possibility to map 10 extra fields per web service page.

    1. Choose the search icon (ALT+Q), enter Badger Fields, and then choose the related link.
    2. Select New to open the Badger Fields Setup Card.
    3. Select which page you want to add fields for on the General FastTab.
    4. You can specify the number of the fields you want to add on the Fields FastTab by typing them manually or by using the assist edit button (...).
    Note

    You cannot add the same Badger Service Name more than once.

    Important
